About Jagdish Krishnaswamy

Jagdish has a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology-Mumbai, India followed by a Master of Science degree in Statistics and Decision Sciences and a PhD in Environmental Science, both from Duke University, North Carolina, USA.   He is the Dean of the School of Environment and Sustainability at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS), Bengaluru, India. 

His research and teaching interests are in ecohydrology, landscape ecology, river ecosystems, ecosystem services and global change impacts on ecosystems.  

He was a Coordinating Lead Author for the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Land.  He is currently involved in the design and setting up of a Long-term Urban Ecological Observatory (LTUEO) on the outskirts of Bengaluru, India.
